The beginning of the creation of the creature starts with Victor arriving at Ingolstadt. WIth his mother's death still fresh on his mind. It shows his grief in the quote "It appeared to me sacrilege to so soon leave the repose, akin to death, of the house of mourning to rush into the thick of life" (Shelly 33). This is the start of Victor's unhealthy obsession with chemistry and death
My mom died and I am far from home
The beginning of the most important scene in the book is when Victor meets M. Waldman who shows him to chemistry. In fact Victor reflects on this moment with a quote "Thus ended a day memorable to me; it decided my destiny." (Shelly 39).
Its nice to have another helper
Victor studies under Waldman and Victor becomes obsessed with the new subjects. His obsession is shown in the quote "From this day natural philosophy, and particularly chemistry, in the most comprehensive sense of the term became nearly me sole occupation." (Shelly 40).
You almost grasped it, try to listen more closely.
Oh, this reeks
Victor started to go into graveyards and steal bodies and parts of them to create a being. This was the start of the creature. "Thus spoke my prophetic soul, as torn by remorse, horror, and despair, I beheld those I loved spend vain sorrow upon the graves of William and Justine, the first hapless victims to my unhallowed arts." (Shelly 8)
It's aliveIt's alive!!!!
Victor manages to make the being alive. Despite his best efforts to make the creature beautiful, he fails so horribly that even he screams in terror at his creation
Victor after seeing his own creation, goes to another place and sleeps there. This spiraled the book into what it was by isolating the creature for a long time leading it to kill out of misery. “Why did you make such a hideous creature like me just to leave me in disgust” (Shelly 4)
