  • Haitains wanted their own independence from France so they started a revolution against the French army by fighting them.
  • Toussaint died in prison!
  • Toussaint rose up as the leader of the revolution and helped write a constitution for the people of Haiti during the revolution. The constitution granted the people of Haiti freedom and individual protection. As stated in the constitution, "No one shall be arrested unless a formally expressed mandate."
  • Haitian continued to fight in war to get their independence.
  • Kick them out of our country!!
  • Retreat back to France
  • Napoleon tricked Toussaint to a meeting in France where he later was imprisoned.
  • Haitians was forced to pay France 150 million Francs
  • Take our $150 million Francs and leave us alone.
  • Give us our 150 million Francs and we will leave.
  • Toussaint was imprisoned by France and suffered pneumonia and lack of malnutrition.
  • Oh look Toussaint die. Better tell the king about this.
  • Probably he died because we didn't feed him. Or well.
  • Haitians continued to fight off the French army after Toussaint death and soon after, France decided to give them their independence.

  • France forced Haiti to pay 150 million Francs for their loss of enslave people and also their independence.
