The French and Indian War was between the French, Indians, and British. They fought over North America. The Natives split up, a few went to the French, and a few went to the British. The British ended up winning and took control over the North America.

In 1763, King George III drew a line in the North America and gave part of the land to the Native Americans and part of it to the Colonies. The King gave majority of the land to the Native Americans and the Colonies got mad over this.

The British government put taxes on the Colonies to help pay off the debt the British had because of the French and Indian War. The taxes were for the stamps on important papers. The colonists started burning stamps, stopped buying newspapers, and started riots.

Eight British soldiers lead by Captain Preston shot and killed five civilians on March 5, 1770. A crowd of civilians crowded the soldiers, so Preston fired, or the crowd yelled fire and the soldiers fired. It s still unknown what happened.

These acts were put in place on Boston by the British government because of the Boston Tea Party. The rules were that they can't ship goods in and out to other countries besides Britain. They shut down all courts in Boston, and they got rid of Massachusetts' government. This made the people of Boston feel trapped.
