- I, Eli Whitney created a special invention called "The Cotton Gin".It helps easily separate cotton fibers from their seeds. It would help speed up the cotton picking process!

- The cotton gin is a machine created by Eli Whitney that was used for cleaning cotton of its seeds. It was invented in the U.S in 1793. Plantation owners would use enslaved people to work these machines which increased the need for slaves.These machines helped speed up the process of cotton picking and helped the economy but wasn't as helpful for the slaves. Slave owners hired more and more slaves to work the cotton gins.
- German immigrants were immigrants that left germany to come to the U.s for many reasons. Some of the main reasons were that in the U.S they had better economic conditions and more opportunities for work. Once they got in the U.S they took many jobs as working in the grocery stores, bakery's, restaurants, etc.
