- Jose Rizal grew up in Calamba, Laguna, with loving parents and siblings. He enjoyed the scenic beauty of Laguna de Bay, a Land Lake with tall trees and plants surrounding it.

- He must be a really smart guy.
- He was a son of an ilustrado family who received the four R's methods of teaching: reading, writing, arithmetic, and religion. His first teacher was his mother, who encouraged him to write poems and lighten the monotony of memorizing the alphabet. His parents hired tutors to help him, including Maestro Celestino, Maestro Lucas Padua, and Maestro Leon Manroy.
