- There was once a woman named Florence Nightingale. She was unknown as usual because she did not want to get married. Instead, she wanted to help people. Florence persisted her parents who hated that she wanted to become a nurse. Her parents finally allowed her to train as a nurse in Germany.
- MIDDLE
- Why aren't you helping them?
- In 1854. lots of British soldiers went to fight in the Crimean war. Most of them were injured and they were hospitalized

- The hospital was filthy. There were rats and flies everywhere. There were no nurses to help and the male doctors did not help them. Lots of men died. When the news reached Florence's ears, she went to the battlefield with 38 nurses. It was very hard but Florence loved it.

- There was a fight for Florence everyday in the hospital. Lots of the male doctors hated what she had said to do to them but none of them dared to silence her.
- Florence wanted to make the hospitals sanitary and better. So she cleaned the hospital, gave the men fresh food and the death rate began to decrease.
- When Florence returned to Britain, She was called as a heroine. Lots of people gathered to meet Florence, but she didn't pay attention. She payed attention to queen Victoria. They met in 1856 and talked about the healthcare system
