- At Chester Elementary School, there is a huge divide between the red shirts and the blue shirts. Jackson is trying to convince everyone in the Fifth grade to wear red because he believes it's the superior color. While Sam is trying to convince everyone to wear whatever they want because he thinks people should choose what they want to wear. Due to this divide, there is a huge imaginary divide where the concrete meets the grass. Jackson rules the grass and playground, while Sam rules the concrete area.
- Cuban Missile Crisis
- While eating in the lunchroom, Sam gave a kid a chocolate bar to help support his idea that anyone should wear whatever they want to. Sam's plan is to give candy and free things to people to help contain the red shirts and let everyone where the color they want to. This made Jackson very angry.
- The Berlin Wall Comes Down
- As the tensions were rising at Chester Elementary School, Sam created an alliance to help support each other. After Jackson found out about this alliance, he wanted to create his own alliance to support the idea that red is the best color. These alliances made tensions grow even more.
- The Fall of the USSR
- While sitting on the bus, Sam heard that Jackson started convincing younger grades to wear red shirts. A spy for Sam found this information and gave it to him. Sam was furious, he thought it was evil and stupid to recruit younger kids who are easily persuasive. He was even angrier that Jackson was able to convince his younger brother, Connor, to join the red shirts. Sam was furious and said it was too far. They eventually agreeded to back off each other, and let the younger kids be.
- After months of division, the wall between the two groups of guys was finally down. After riots and fights on the playground, something finally changed. Friends started reconnecting and everything was starting to be good again. People were kind and happy again. This is the start of the fall of red shirts at Chester Elementary.
- After fights started, some of the kids in support of Jackson who believed red was the superior color, started to see that some had more freedom than others. Doug wore a pink shirt one day and that made the red shirt supporters upset. They demanded more freedom, which spiraled the collapse of the red shirts. Everyone was now allowed to wear whatever they wanted, and everything was good again at Chester Elementary School.
