As you can see education is essential to the characters' growth. Here Eva is teaching Karim me about some books, but they also share taste in music and recent artwork. Thanks to her, he is learning and furthering the education that he let go off at some point.
Karim moved to London following the wishe of Eva. He doesn't understand the people there, everything is completly different. Moreover he often feel disapointed in the world around him. Charlie is also changing, following trends so easily that Karim doesn't recognize him. Some circumstances bring him to the conclusion that London is not what he expected at all.
Karim got a role as Mowgli in a theater but was only tooken because of my origins and skin color. As you can see they peinted him in black but also asked of him to talk with an indian accent to make the character realer. At this moment the disappointment is real and the experience that he gained there allow him to be a little bit more matture.
