Long ago in a Pueblo village, there was a boy named Kuo-Haya who had a tough relationship with his dad.
Kuo-Haya's dad doesn't like being with his son ever since his wife died. Kuo-Haya feels unappreciated by his father.
Kuo-Haya follows bear tracks and approaches bear cubs. Kuo-Haya's father and a few other villagers try to find him. Kuo-Haya is found playing with the cubs. His dad tries to get him back using brute force.
His father learns that using violence isn't the right way to get his son back. He makes a new plan.
Kuo-Haya's father makes him a promise not to hurt the bears and he will teach him how to be a man.
Kuo-Haya is brought back to the village and his father teaches him what needs to be taught.
