  • Etruscans
  • We rule Rome!
  • Lucretius (My expirence growing up in the Roman Republic)
  • Roman Laws
  • I, Lecretius Lentulus was born as a patrician in 484 BCE. My father, Eusebia Lentulus was a wealthy landowner, advised by the king, my mother, however, was a housewife named Vita Lentulus. I was born into my carefree family, we were particians after all. I grew up being taught to value my social position and I never really gave it much thought much of it until 494 BCE, I was around 10 years old. This event would truly change my life.
  • Council of Plebs
  • In 494 BCE a group of plebeians moved to a hill away from our city and protested that they would stay there, not doing their jobs until their needs were met. "They are being so ungrateful," I agreed to my father's. wise words which he said, " Oh for he shall never be ungracious to thou one step ahead". Conflict of orders? We did nothing wrong. But in the end, we gave in, had to give them what they wanted. They were being so lazy.
  • Laws being passed
  • Around 43 years later the plebeians demanded more from us after giving them the 'rights'. They wanted us to transcribe the laws so we wouldn't disobey them. I never understood the point but it was important to them. Eventually, we gave in and transcribed our laws onto things like rocks, etc. This would be the last drastic change in rome before I passed away.
  • I passed away in 425 BCE but still watched afar to tell this story. I could not believe what had happened while I was gone. The plebeians had actually gotten a council to which they could govern, thankfully it wasn't anywhere near our amazing government. They gained the right to be consuls.
  • That wasn't the worst part of this whole story. The worst part is that eventually, in 287, after 222 years of us particans trying to keep our social status these lazy, ungrateful people got the right to pass laws for all Roman citizens. I could not believe it. I could not believe THEY finally had the right to pass laws. This was outrageous!! *the end*
