  • Newton's First Law of Motion- The Law of Inertia: An object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion at a constant speed and in a straight line unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.Explanation: According to the law of inertia, the ball would continue moving forever after the boy kicked it, but friction acts as the force which eventually stops the ball from rolling.
  • Newton's Second Law of Motion- The Law of Force: The acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied.Explanation: When the same force is applied to two objects, the one with less mass will move faster. Thus, the tennis ball would go faster than the basketball.
  • Newton's Third Law of Motion- The Law of Action/Reaction: Whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first.Explanation: The air coming out of the balloon is the action, and the reaction is the balloon being propelled upwards.
