  • Buffalo Snow Storm 2000
  • On Nov,20,2000 in Buffalo NY there was a snow storm. 976,000 people were affected and there were 12 deaths!
  • The storm destroyed thousands of trees caused people to have no power. The damage was said to cost 160 million dollars.
  • The state issued people to go on full lockdown and stay inside. Also they needed items to keep them warm.
  • Some information about blizzards are winds have to be 35mph and temperatures near or below 10*. The storm got stronger when the low pressure would pull in the warm and cold air.
  • Humidity was high and there were heavy winds the days leading up to the storm.
  • And there was also heavy snowfall and very strong gusts of wind during the storm. And after the storm ended it was still snowing but not as bad.
  • The types of weather that occurred were -Cold Front-Snowfall-and very high wind speeds
  • So what did we learn?We learned that blizzards are destructive storms with winds reaching a high of 35mph and temperatures reaching 10* or below.
