Hi I’m Dan Stedman. Everyday, millions of people sit down to play video games for countless hours. While this seems innocent enough, violent video games can be the cause for many emotional outbreaks and acts of violence.
Psychology today states that “Approximately 90% of children in the U.S. play video games, and more than 90% of those games involve mature content that often includes violence. The connection between violent media and aggression has spawned a body of research.”
ARG!! THIS VIOLENT VIDEO GAME MADE ME SO MAD I WANT TO BASH IN THIS MAILBOX!!!
After the Columbine School Shooting, the victim’s parents sued approximately 25 video game companies who were responsible for influencing their children. Kids between the ages of 8-18 are at the most risk for being influenced by video games. Infact, the average American teen spends an average of 110 minutes per day playing video games.
I HATE VIDEO GAMES!!!
These violent games make my dreams very violent. When I wake up im going to rage!
Violent video games have a natural threat to teens because they create unrealistic experiences. We want to stop the promotion of extreme violence in video games and help create a safe gaming community.
