The Boston Tea Party (1773)
1760s, Britain
Sounds magnificent!
In order to pay our debts, we should impose taxes to Americans.
There should be no taxation without representation!
The Stamp Act -1765-
Britain was in great debt, so the British Parliament created a series of taxes that American colonists hat to pay.
1767
We won`t be able to purchase paint or paper, glass, lead, and tea anymore because of how high taxes are now.
American Colonists were frustrated and angry at Britain for imposing "taxation without representation".
We shall not pay extra money for basic products. Stop now!
The Stamp Act taxed colonists on every piece of printed paper they used.
In 1767, it went further, taxing essential products like paint, paper, glass, lead, and tea.
More and more people were furious at the lack of representation from them in the British Parliament.
