  • The second major embarrassment to the Chinese population was the failure in the Sino-Japanese War.
  • Sun Yat-Sen was a Chinese intellectual who believed that China was in an undesirable state and needed to be free of foreign influence.
  • On Oct 9, 1911, revolutionaries accidentally caused a large explosion whilst making bombs, leading to more government awareness of the revolutionaries, causing the revolutionaries to start a revolution. The revolutionaries seized Nanjing.
