  • In todays lesson we will be learning about inertia!
  • You might be wandering what inertia is?
  • Well sit tight because I'll be answering all your questions!
  • Inertia
  • Inertia"An object at rest remains at rest, or if in motion, remains in motion at a constant velocity unless acted on by a net external force."
  • If you didn't understand that let me simplify that for you by showing you an example
  • Inertia
  • For this example, the red car is going 30km an hour and the grey car isn't moving at all. But on top of the red car is a yellow man. In theory, when the red car collides with the grey car it will come to a complete stop but the yellow man wont! The yellow man will continue to go 30km an hour until an external force is acted upon him.
  • Just as I predicted! This is a perfect example of inertia! Also known as Newtons 1st Law.
  • .
  • The reason why the yellow man continued to go forward and the red car didn't is because the red car DID have an external force acting upon it whilst the yellow man didn't.
  • This is why we wear seatbelts in a vehicle so we DO have an external force acting upon us stopping us from continuing to go 30Km an hour.
  • .
  • I hope you've enjoyed todays lesson about Inertia! That's all for today thank you for coming bye!
