  • A limited government is a government where the power is spread out. The reason it is a big idea in the constitution is so the government power is restricted.
  • Hey do you know what a limited government is? My friend mentioned one today and I didn't know what it was.
  • The are a few different reasons. A limited government ensures that a government doesn't get too powerful. It also makes government leaders respond to the people.
  • Voting is a great example! Voting sets limits and makes the political leaders responsive to the people.
  • Oh, okay I get it. So then what is the purpose of a limited government?
  • What would be an example of a limited government?
  • A school required their students to say the pledge of allegiance and solute the flag even if it is against their religion. The supreme court protected their freedom to exercise speech, religion, press, etc. The students first amendment protected their freedom pf religion.
  • What would be a federal example of a limited government?
  • Oh so a limited government essentially makes sure the government doesn't get to powerful. Thanks for explaining a limited government to me!
