- Today in algebra we will study Quadratic Functions and trasfromations and the standard form of a quadratic function
- Hello class today we willl be learning about quadratic functions and transformations
- for example in the problem; f(x) = (x - 2)^2 the transformation will be 2 units to the right
- So in the problem; f(x) = x^2 + 3 the transformation will be 3 units up.
- lets talk about lesson 2 that will be of the standard form of a Quadratic Function
- the standard form of a quadratic function is y=ax^2 + bx + c
- for example in the problem y=x^2-2x+1 the vertex of the parabola will be (-1 ,0)
- so standard form will always be written y= ax^2 + b + c and this will help find the vertex of the parabola
- And the final lesson for today it will be modeling with quadratics
- modeling with quadratics is finding the standard form just by having the through points
