- Ignatius Agarbi was appointed as the Minister of Finance in Nigeria where he promised that he will end graft and corruption in his term. However, for the past years there were no changes from the system that the people and media did not seem interested in, thinking that he is just the same with other previous ministers who had done nothing.
- Even though no one showed confidence in him, he took his duty with determination. On his first days, he was able to arrest officials with cases of falsification, breach of regulations, and bribery.
- People and the media noticed him after what he did in his position. He became the center page of the Lagos Times as "the new broom every guilty man feared" because those who have done illegal agendas in the government were cleared by him.
- In his second year as the minister, General Otobi - the head of the statehas tasked him to investigate Swiss bank accounts where they suspect that the bribes and corrupted money from the budget of the state goes to. so he was given the authority and everything he needed in order to carry out the job. General Otobi even gave him a pistol for his protection.
- He went to the chairman of the bank to get him to cooperate and tell him the information he needs but the chairman firmly told him that it is against the policy and confidentiality of their bank. Ignatius gave the chairman various threats that would ruin their bank and even pointed a gun on him just to reveal the accounts he was asking for.
- After he ensured that the chairman would not give in to such threats, he laid down his briefcase on the table containing his money amounting to 5 million dollars and asked the chairman about opening an account on their bank.
