- By July 1775, moderates in Congress draft the Olive Branch petition, asking the king to restore peace. - the King declined.
- Americans had lost every single war. October 1775, Battle of Saratoga, the European nations decided to help Americans in its struggle for indepence.
- France began to Aid American in 1777. France also convinces Spain to join and help the Americans as well.
