Welcome to the Indus Valley. It is located in modern day Pakistan in North-West India. It happened 5000 years ago and lasted for about 200. The river near us was the Indus River which was a very crucial part of our lives.

Welcome to our homes. This is were we do most of our daily activities. We spend most of our time on our roofs because it is cooler up there rather than inside. Another very cool and important thing about our houses is that they are made out of kiln-fired mud bricks which are very strong and durable.
This is our bathrooms in which we have indoor plumbing. We are one of the first civilizations to have it. We also had sewer systems that were pipes which our dirty water flowed through that eventually ended up flowing into a drain in the street. (THIS IS NOT HOW THEIR BATHROOMS LOOKED)
This is the Great Bath. Ritual bathing is very important to us and is a way we worship our gods. The Great Bath is the essential place for ritual bathing and is were we feel we can worship best.
This is called a seal. It is the marking on the clay slab. They are used as tags for us and are very important for us to know who's items are who's. Each person or group has a marking which is then pressed into the soft clay which leaves that mark.

Trade was a very important in the Indus Valley. It supplied workers with the materials that they needed and the traders took away finished goods to trade with other cities. One of the most important things that traders provided were crops. Traders also had to travel very long distances to get and trade for goods that they could trade to people in the Indus Valley.
