Storyboard Text

  •  In our small town, every breast burned with the holy fire of patriotism. Drums beat, bands played, toy pistols popped, firecrackers hissed and spluttered.
  • Sunday morning came and our church was filled
  • Twains is trying to tell people how war is bloody and people shouldn't pay to have war. People should pray instead to have peace and for people to be more open up to things.
  •  “Grant us victory, O Lord our God.” The Lord too has heard this prayer, and He will grant it—if such is your desire
  • The minister read a war chapter from the Old Testament.
  • You have prayed it. If you still desire it, speak!
  •  I come from the Throne of Heaven, bearing a message from Almighty God.
  • Twain is trying to show people that don't know that war is a serious and violent place and no one should be in war. War is death and not a positve thing. His positive description of imperialism represents the common belief that war is a glorious event and a source of pride for the victors.
