Storyboard Text

  • Amelia continued her test and just took her medicine on camera. After a few minutes, Amelia really needed a bathroom break but knew she wasn't able to leave until she finished so she rushed through her test so she could use the bathroom, answering the questions without thinking.
  • Amelia's teacher received her score from the test back and noticed her poor performance and remembers Amelia behavior and comments during the test. She remembers how antsy Amelia looked and how she had to take her medicine in the middle of the test and how she told her to remain seated and stay in view of the camera.

  • When Amelia and her teacher finally returned to school, the two decided to have a conversation about what could be done better with these proctored exams for students with disabilities. Amelia revealed that the lack of accommodations heightened her anxiety and that the A.I. proctor was unreliable with detecting actual issues. Her teacher realizes that it should've been communicated that students could request accommodations and consulting with people with disabilities before relying on this technology.
