- We only have $10 saved but we will have $100 saved by the end of the month
- I really don't want my dog to die I've had him since he was a pup.
- Slim: "Its fine you can have one of my pups."
- Candy:"Awright-take 'im"
- Carlson: "He stinks Candy. He makes the whole room smell bad plus he is old just let me kill 'im."
- Slim: Lennie is really hard working he is dumb but he can follow rules
- George: Yea I told you so!
- George and Lennie tell Candy about their plan and Candy tell him he had about $350 saved and that he would help pay.
- You were out there messing with my wife.
- Carlson complains about the dog's smell and insisted on killing Candy's old dog and putting it out of his misery.
- Curley: "What are you laughing at"
- At the beginning of the chapter, Slim was going on about how good Lennie really was at doing work. While George already knew what Lennie was capable of.
- Lennie:"I didn't mean it George. I didn't mean to hurt no one"
- George:"I know Lennie. I know you didn't mean it "
- Curley assumed that Slim was messing with his wife. Even though Slim swore he didn't do anything.
- Slim:"I keep telling you I wasn't with your wife just cause you cant keep up with her doesn't mean I was messing with her."
- As Curley and Slim argue Lennie laughs and Curley got defensive and wanted to fight Lennie even though Lennie didn't know what was going on.
- After Lennie realized what he had done to Curley he was really apologetic because he didn't mean to hurt him but George told him to.
