Allan is eating dinner with the old man. This scene is important because this is where Allan truly discovers that he wants to kill the old man. It creates a lot of suspense. "I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye forever."
Allan comes in and is just waiting to kill the old man. Then he does, he stifles the old man with his bed, then pulls apart the old man and puts his body in the floor boards. This scene is important because it kind of creates some suspense and excitement. "I dragged him to the floor, and pulled the heavy bed over him."
Someone heard a scream coming from the house and called the police. The police where at his door. "I smiled for what had I to fear?" This scene is important because it creates a great amount of suspense. Also some what of fear.
