  • In 1920 the U.S. Passed the 18th Amendment that started the Prohibition
  • _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  • During the Prohibition, Organized Crime would bootleg Alcohol and hide and serve them in Speakeasies. Their were Bosses who Organized the Organized Crime such as Al Capone.
  • Al Capone grew up and lived in Chicago. Al Capone is know as the Original Gangster.
  • Bootlegging is illegal manufacturing or production of an illegal item, Things know for being bootlegged are alcohol and recordings.
  • The Bootlegged alcohol would usually be distributed and sold to speakeasies. Speakeasies were hidden illegal bars usually on the edges of cities sometimes in old factories and warehouses.
  • There would also be sometimes when the rich would throw parties in their basement and usually the Mayor and the Chief of Police and other important Government and County Officials would be there.
