After Abuelita is here Esperanza's life begin's to turn around. Mama's not sick Abuelita is there and Miguel is back. The text states "Oh, Esperanza!” said Isabel, jumping up and down and clapping. “I think my heart is dancing.”Esperanza barely choked out the whisper, “Mine, too.” They were happy because life was getting better. The text also states"And now, the grapeswere delivering another harvest and Esperanza was turning another year." Things will always get better.
It's Esperanza's birthday and Miguel and her are now on the same side of the river. The Text states "On the morning of her birthday, Esperanza heard the voices coming from outside her window." It was her first birthday with out papa. The text also states "Then she flew over a river, a thrusting torrent that cutthrough the mountains. And there, in the middle of the wilderness, was a girl in a blue silk dress and a boywith his hair slicked down, eating mangoes on a stick, carved to look like exotic flowers, sitting on a grassy bank, on the same side of the river.
Hope is the theme of the story because they never lost hope that things would get better.
