- Amelia is sitting at her desk working on a computer science project on her brand new computer when she gets a notification.
- Oh no! I forgot to update my computer!
- Thats my phone reminding me to get the new software update.
- Amelia decides to put off the software update until later...
- It only takes a couple of minutes to update. If you don't keep on updating software you'll have unpatched software. Nobody wants that!
- Software Update Complete
- 3 weeks later... Amelia is hanging out with friends when her friend gets a notification on her phone.
- What is unpatched software?
- Unpatched software means that there are potential vulnerabilities in the software that you're aware of, but you don't run the update to fix the problems in the software. Which means you are more susceptible to hackers or malware.
- Suddenly Amelia Remembers that she still has not updated her computer.
- Amelia's friend explains why it's important to update your software.
