Epic Hero
Storyboard Text
- The main character is a hero who is possessed of supernatural qualities or abilities: A beautiful, self-reliant princess named Regina resides in Italy in a castle by the name of Castra. She lives all alone in the castle, with no one to accompany her.
- The hero is charged with a quest: Statedly, Regina must set sail on her ship to find a prince to marry and live happily ever after with; but, allegorically, Regina must go out on a journey to realize her self-reliance and independence.
- The hero is tested, often to prove the worthiness of himself and his quest: Regina is stuck on her island and wishes for some wind to get her ship moving, and from one extreme to the next, out of nowhere comes a raging wind storm.
- The brutal wind storm carries Regina and her ship out into perilous, stormy seas, where it gets battered and blown around.
- Regina's ship is unable to sail, so she decides to swim to a nearby island. She arrives completely exhausted, worn out, and scared.
- Numerous mythical beings, magical and helpful animals, and human helpers and companions are present: A magical bird named Avis comes down from the sky, seizes Regina, and takes her up into the clouds.
