- We are going to own a ranch with animals.
- I get to attend the rabbits!
- What are you laughing at!
- Come fight me!
- *Cries*
- Fight me!
- It is nighttime on the ranch with George,Lennie and Candy talking about the american dream that they planned until...
- GET HIM LENNIE!
- Make him stop George!
- Until Curley, Slim, Whit and Carlson come in the room. Curley gets angry at Lennie for laughing. Curley confronts him harshly saying to fight him.
- Lennie stop!
- OWWW! LET ME GO!
- Everyone is shocked! Lennie cries out of fear while Curley is yelling and about to punch him.
- You told me to George!
- If you don't tell nobody what happened, we ain't going to.
- I think you got your han' caught in a machine.
- Foreshadowing is happening here with George saying to Lennie to fight back although around the beginning of the book George says to not do anything and to stay out of trouble. George is telling Lennie to fight back and Lennie wants George to help Curley to stop.
- Lennie grabs Curley's hand as defence with the others telling him that's enough and he should let go. Lennie can;t let go because when people yell it scares Lennie so he grabs longer and harder.That is the part when Lennie breaks Curley's hand.
- Lennie lets go of Curley's hand. Lennie is scared and upset that he did not mean to hurt him and that George to telling him to defend himself. Slim is telling Curley a threat by getting telling everyone that his hand got caught in a machine and tell no one what really happened.
