- What are you doing in my room packing my things, Maria?
- Your mother has asked me to pack your clothes since we are moving away.
- Conflict
- Bruno.......my boy. This is your home for now.
- ''This is my work, important work. Important to your country. Important to the fury. You will understand that someday.
- I will never be happy in this lonely place .
- ''But I want to go back home.''
- ''Bruno I can't do anything. Father made this decision of his important work.''
- Rising Action
- Sniff Sniff. I'm Shmuel.
- I wonder why he's so skinny and wears striped pajamas all the time.
- Hi I'm Bruno what's your name?
- The book starts by introducing Bruno. He is upset because his maid is packing up all of his things and he doesn't understand why. It turns out that his father is a German officer during World War II and his job requires him to move from Berlin to Auschwitz.
- Climax
- I'm worried Bruno, I can't find my father anywhere.
- Other than the general conflict of Nazi vs. the Jewish, there is also a conflict between Bruno and his parents. They don't understand how severe the conflict is with Bruno (Bruno not liking their new home and his lack of friends), but it leads to him sneaking out and going into the camp. Mother tells Bruno that the only Fury decides for the family and she can't say anything.
- Falling Action
- What's going on? I have to leave before my parents noticed I'am missing.
- One day Bruno went behind his mother's back for exploring and followed a tall fence and he finds a little boy around his age sitting behind the fence. Shmuel was a really small and super skinny boy. He is Jewish and lives in a concentration camp. Bruno begins to visit him daily and sometimes sneak him food as well.
- Resolution
- It has been a year since they lived in out-with and over the course of the next few weeks Mother seemed increasingly unhappy with life at out-with. And she wants to go back to our old house Beline. So Father decided that its time for them to go back to berline. Bruno and Shmuel become best friends and Shmuel wanted help finding his papa and so one day Bruno changes into a set of striped pajamas and crawls under the fence to the prisoner's side.
- I have a plane. Because I am moving to berlin let's do a final adventure , if you can get me a spare set of pyjamas. I can come in there and help you look for him.
- As Bruno and Shmuel walk around camp they got shoved in a group of Jewish prisoners. Shmuel thought they were going for a march but suddenly they were in a dark house which is the gas chambers. When they were inside the gas chambers, Bruno tells Shmuel that he was his best friend for life and held his hands.
- Des the marching go on for long?
- I'am not exactly quite sure, this has never happened to me
- '' I don't think so, I never see the people after they've gone on a march''.
- Both Bruno and Shmuel get gassed and die in the gas chambers. After several days later the soldiers find his clothes outside the fence. Days later after Bruno's died Bruno's mother returns to Berlin hoping Bruno will be there and Gretel spends most of her time crying because she missed Bruno so much. Bruno's dad returns after 2 years of being at Auschwitz. And this is the end of the story about Bruno and his family. Of course, all this happened a long time ago but there are still similar things that are happening in today's world. So we need to respect everyone, who they are, and what they believe so that things like how this story happened wouldn't repeat in today's world.
