- The knowledge test is the first step toward an unrestricted licence. To prepare for the ICBC practice knowledge test, you must first read the Learning to Drive Smart book to master the essentials and then take the ICBC practice knowledge test.

- I must study the book "Learning to Drive Smart" and do the ICBC practice knowledge test in order to prepare for the knowledge test.
- When prepared, you must go to a local ICBC and take the knowledge and screen visioning tests to receive your L licence once you are 16 years old or older.

- I'm ready to take my knowledge test and screen visioning test !
- After you've earned an L, the next step is to achieve an N. You must practice driving for one year under the supervision of someone over the age of 25.
- I passed my knowledge test. Now I need to practice driving with supervision to get ready for the road test.
- I am back at ICBC to take my class 7 road test so I can get my N.
- After a year of supervised driving, you must return to your local ICBC and pass the class 7 road test in order to receive an N, which allows you to drive on your own.
- I got an N ! Now I must drive safely for 2 years so I can take my class 5 road test.
- After earning an N, you must practice safe driving for two years before taking the class 5 road test.
- You will get a full unrestricted BC drivers licence once you have passed the class 5 road test.
- I passed my class 5 road test and now have a full unrestricted driver's licence. I will continue to drive safely
