Before the Neolithic Age people had to hunt and gather for food.
Eventually they had to stop because as it said in the book the food became very scarce when they stayed in one place for too long.
The change from the Paleolithic age to the early start of the Neolithic Age is called the Agricultural Revolution
These new things that were happening such as growing crops and domestication of animals is called Agriculture
People now had a dependable food source and didn't have to worry too much about if they would have food or not.
After people got tired of hunting and gathering they found out by planting seeds they could actually get food. This led to farmers going around to different areas and seeing whether or not they could grow their crops there, which as we know now those areas are called farms.
People were finally finding out ways to use the domestication of animals for people's every day needs. As it said in the Social Studies book they would use sheep, goats, and cattle for food and meat.
Everybody had now learned that they could have a food source where they were almost guaranteed food, they could now rely less on Hunting and Gathering. This is why Agriculture is a new culture!
