- Hello there digital citizen. My name is Malware, and I am here to steal your data.
- Never fear, digital citizen. A Malware like this is simply a general term for malicious software. The three main types are keylogging, spyware and ransomware. It most likely accessed your computer through a phishing email, corrupted website, or unsafe download, and is working to steal your files, passwords, and render the device inoperable.
- Oh no, what can I do to stop it?
- Let us do battle, Cyber-Man!
- Fine Malware, have it your way. Citizen, watch and learn. The best way to combat malware is to run antivirus scans that will detect and delete malware. Windows defender is great and built in on all windows computers, and macs can utilize paid softwares from companies like Norton and Mcafee.
- Your puny scans can't stop me Cyber-Man!
- Windows defender, begin scan!
- This isn't over Cyber-Man!
- Well citizen, we were able to stop malware today, but prevention is the best cure here. You can prevent this from happening by keeping your software up to date, deleting unused apps, and being cautious when opening emails, and downloading files.
