  • Around 4000 BCE, a new people, the Indo-Europeans began to spread from their homeland in the Caucasus.
  • Over the next few thousand years, they spread and eventually came to dominate all of Europe and much of Asia.
  • The Aryans settled in India. They were light-skinned and called the dark-skinned Indians: Dasas. They lived in Castes and later on took the Dasas as slaves.
  • Lets talk about some of the groups that spread over Europe and Asia.
  • Also The Hittites built two kingdoms The Old kingdom (1700 to 1500 BCE) and The New Kingdom (Empire from 1400 to 1200 BCE)They had great power and represented a threat to the Egyptians, with whom they made a peace treaty.
  • Their languages are the basis of European languages, such as Spanish, English, German, etc.
  • Today, almost half of the world belongs to this group.After 500 BCE, the Indo-European settlement slowed down and the area of settlement remained similar until European colonialism 2000 years later.

  • They tamed horses and rode into battle in light, two- wheeled chariots which they built from iron, wood and leather.
