- Robespierre you have been removed from power and will be executed for having so many people killed.
- After voting unanimously to find the King guilty, the deputies held a separate vote on his punishment. By a single vote, Louis was sentenced to death, "within twenty–four hours."However, Louis Capet, formerly King of France was beheaded by the guillotine. For the first time in a thousand years, the French people were not ruled by a monarch.

- The reign of Terror was a period of the French Revolution when struggles between political factions rivals took a mutual radicalization, which took a violent mass executions with the guillotine. The Reign of Terror was a dark and violent period of time during the French Revolution. Radicals took control of the revolutionary government. They arrested and executed anyone who they suspected might not be loyal to the revolution.
- The Reign of Terror ended when Robespierre was removed from power and executed. Maximilien Robespierre is arrested after encouraging the execution of more than 17,000 “”enemies of the Revolution as were many of his fellow Jacobins, thereby ending the Reign of Terror, which was succeeded by the Thermidorian Reaction.
- Napoleon Bonaparte comes into power and becomes the first emperor in France. Coup of 18 Brumaire. The Coup of 18 Brumaire brought General Napoleon Bonaparte to power as First Consul of France and in the view of most historians ended the French Revolution. This bloodless coup d'état overthrew the Directory, replacing it with the French Consulate.
