  • After the Battle of Saratoga, the French decided to support the Americans and send troops.
  • Hooray for the Americans
  • With the Help of the French, George Washington led to American army to many victories.
  • No White House
  • Eventually the English were surrounded in Charlestown bombarded by the French navy and American army.
  • First President
  • On September 3rd, 1783, British General Lord Cornwalis surrendered
  • He was elected as the first president of the US. But there was no White House or Washington D.C.
  • As the first President he had many things to do and set lots of examples.
