- Boredom was a consistant issue. Soldiers went about their duties and tried to sleep whenever they had the chance.
- Im so BORED!!
- Same. Im about to get some rest.
- Soldiers on the front lines were far away from their family and homes. To keep track of their experiences, they wrote journals and letters.
- I really miss my family. 😭
- Im so ready to see my family again. 😭
- Trenches were filthy and overflowing with water. Trench foot was a common disease caused by spending too much time in the water.
- Eww! It's so smelly and wet! I have to get out of this water before i get trench foot!! 🤢
- Rats the size of cats invaded the trenches, preying on the bodies of those who had died.
- Clothing was infested with lice, causing itching and trench fever.
- OMG! It's so much lice!!
