- North Vietnam wanted south Vietnam to become communists. South Vietnam said no, but the north intended on letting the people vote on it. The south was scared that the people would vote for communism.

- After the South rejected the offer, North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam. Then the American soldiers started fighting.

- The North Vietnamese used guerrilla warfare which is a type of war in which people will hide in the ground and will shot when enemies walk through that area.

- When the soldiers were in Vietnam fighting, people back home started rallies saying to get out of Vietnam.

- The Napalm was the weapon commonly used in the Vietnam War.

- America got tired of fighting. They signed a cease- fire agreement and America withdrew their troops.
