- Maybe I could actually make something out of my jokes
- Ellen was born outside of New Orleans and grew up there with her brother Vance.Ellen was facinated by what was around her and loved the city.
- So tell me about your life Ellen.
- Ellen's parents divorced when Ellen was 13, and Ellen's mom was falling into depression, Ellen helped her out of it by telling her mom jokes everyday and her mom was start to laugh
- So today I saw my neighbor washing her cat.
- Ellen realized how much she helped her mom just by telling her jokes and thought that she could actually made a carrer out of it. She then decided to focus her career on becoming a comedian.
- Happy anniversary!!
- Ellen graduated college and got her first gig at a Tonight show. She was the first comedian to be able to sit on the couch and to be able to talk about her life. Ellen felt really proud of herself and became really confident.
- But Ellen decided that she didn't want to attend gigs, she wanted to create her own show. So she put her mind to it and it was exactly what she did. She called it The Ellen Degeneres Show where she talked about her life everyday for an hour.
- Ellen continued on with her jokes and she has had her show for over 2 decades now, she is extremely successful and has won a dozen awards. She is now married and lives a happy life with her wife and spends time with her family. She is considered one of the most successful comedians out there to this day
