  • The book is set in London during the Victorian era. The main character is a grumpy man named Scrooge. Scrooge dislikes people and is very cheap. Scrooge also especially hates Christmas.
  • Ghost of Christmas Present
  • Marley is Scrooge's dead business partner. Marley visits Scrooge seven years after his death, as a ghost with a large chain. The ghosts chain symbolizes what happened in there life and what weighs them down. Marley also comes to warn Scrooge of three other ghosts that will visit Scrooge to teach him a lesson.
  • Ghost of Christmas Future 
  • Scrooge is first visited by the ghost of Christmas past. This ghost is candle like. The ghost takes Scrooge to his childhood. The ghost reminds him of how he celebrated Christmas once. The ghost goes through many things to show Scrooge that he changed.
  • Summary
  • Ghost of Christmas present was a big, jolly, man. The ghost first takes Scrooge to see how the people of his town are currently celebrating with what little they have. The ghost also shows a family called the Cratchits. The Cratchits have a kid named Tiny Tim. Tiny Tim is disabled and helps Scrooge feel sorry for the poor. The ghost also shows two small children that symbolize things that will always be there.
  • The ghost of Christmas future was a ghost that was concealed in a cloak and did not speak a word. The ghost first took Scrooge to many places all affected by a man's death. The ghost also took Scrooge back to the Cratchits were he finds out that tiny Tim actually dies. Scrooge then asks of this is the real future or if it can be changed. The ghost then takes Scrooge to a gravestone that says his name.
  • A Christmas Carol was about teaching an almost unforgivable man to be kind and generous. It showed a process that it took to change Scrooge from selfish to selfless.
