  • Readers POV: I feel that piggy is a brave individual who is just overlooked because no one seems to care what he thinks.

  • Authors POV: the author made Piggy be a weak and frightened character that doesn't stand up for himself.

  • "I'm Chief then." the circle of boys broke into applause. pg23.
  • Reader's POV: Ralph seems to be a good leader but one that doesn't let others take control.
  • Author POV: The author has made ralph to be a tuff and strong boy so he seems to be a natural born leader.
  • Sam and Eric Twins
  • "The two boys, bullet-headed and with hair like tow, flung themselves down and lay grinning and panting at Ralph like dogs."pg 19.
  • Reader POV: The reader views the twins as not really able to make there own decisions.
  • Authors POV: the author has made sam and eric to be extremely loyal and to not care who they follow.
  • This is a defining moment because it marks that piggy is no longer okay with being mistreated and bullied by the other boys.

  • Reader POV: The reader views simon as someone who doesn't make sense and it misunderstood and overlooked.
  • Authors POV: the author has made simon to be a very mysterious and unknown character.
  • This is a defining moment because this moment in the chapter shows that ralph can easily be trusted with leadership.

  • "We could steal up on one paint our faces so they wouldn't see-perhaps surround them and then-" pg54.
  • This is a defining moment because it shows that the boys will blindly follow anyone because they are loyal and will easily trust others.
  • Roger
  • "Roger ran round the heap, prodding with his spear whenever pig flesh appeared."pg135.
  • Authors POV: The author has made roger to seem okay but insane on the inside.
  • This is a defining moment for Simon because he is realizing that most of the boys believe they will not be saved at all and stand no chance.

  • This is a defining moment because this is marking the start of insanity among one person and now they have started to change the others.
  • Readers POV: The reader view jack as a psychopath that does whatever he wants because he has power.
  • Authors POV: The author has made jack to represent the side of people that go crazy with power.
  • This is a defining moment because it shows when and how Roger went fully savage and felt okay with it.
  • Readers POV: The reader views roger as a crazy character who likes to cause problems with the other boys.
