- The siege of Savannah collapsed and the British remained in control of Savannah until July 1782, near the end of the war. Significance of the Battle of Savannah: The significance of the conflict was that it was the beginning of the British push in the South.
- The Siege of Charleston was a British land and sea campaign that cut off and forced the surrender of Charleston, S.C., the principal port city of the southern American colonies.
- The Battle of Kings Mountain was a military engagement between Patriot and Loyalist militias in South Carolina during the Southern Campaign of the American Revolutionary War, resulting in a decisive victory for the Patriots.

- Battle of Cowpens was a brilliant American victory over a British force on the northern border of South Carolina that slowed Lord Cornwallis's campaign to invade North Carolina.
- Joint Franco-American land and sea campaign that entrapped a major British army on a peninsula at Yorktown, Virginia, and forced its surrender. The siege virtually ended military operations in the American Revolution.
- Marion and Greene would clash numerous times during the first half of 1781. Greene’s request for horses would be repeated numerous times. Marion’s response would express his regret, then later his irritation. As the war heated up, so would Greene’s need for horses, but so would the friction between the two over Marion’s failure (Greene’s opinion) or his inability (Marion’s point of view) to supply them.
