- Somewhere in the United States on Maple Street, people saw a flash of light in the sky and thought it was a meteor. Then they realized that all the power had been sucked out of everything. No lights or any electronics worked.
- Maple Street
- A boy name Tommy told the people about a book he read about aliens coming down from outer space. The aliens looked like human, but they weren't. The aliens sent down a mom, dad, and 2 kids that didn't look like aliens so they could set up a landing spot for the spacecraft. The people looked confused about what Tommy was saying.
- Maple Street
- Les Goodman's car suddenly started! All the people were mad and frightened because they thought he might be an alien.
- Charlie believed that a figure that was approaching was an alien and he fired his weapon. The bullet struck the figure who then fell to the ground. The figure was actually Pete Van Horn.
- Maple Street
- After Pete Van Horn's death, the mob got angry at Charlie for shooting so quickly. They attacked Charlie's home with rocks.
- In the end, the aliens watched as the people of Maple Street destroyed themselves. The aliens knew that the people were the real monsters of Maple Street.
