Jamestown was the first settlement to make peace with the Native Americans. Pochahantas, the chief of the Native Americans daughter, was married off to John Smith the leader of the colonists at age ten to make peace between the Native Americans and the colonists. Many settlers died because they contracted malaria. Life in Jamestown was not easy and eventually, the settlement failed.
On the Mayflower many passengers got very sick. They were stuck on it for 66 days and in that amount of time it is very easy to be or get uncomfortable, ill, tired, or restless in a small space over seas. In this picture, a pilgrims is very ill and he is complaining about life on the Mayflower. The woman in the picture is thinking that he shouldn't be complaining, because she thinks that she has it harder than him. Even though of all of the tiresome times on The Mayflower, they still made it through and conciquentiallyy
In Roanoke, all of the settlers that were living there disappered! Sir Walter Raleigh came to Roanoke to drop off some useful supplies that the settlers much needed, but when he got there there was nobody there. We still do not know what happened to the settlers but there was a clue. The word CROATOAN was carved on a tree at Roanoke. Some people think that the settlers went to a nearby island called Croatoan. No one really knows what happened but it sure is a great story!
