A tradition that has been passed down through generations in my Maltese familly is making a cultural cookie called Figolis with my Grandma for Easter.
A symbol that represents my tradition is an Easter egg. This is because we make these cookies for Easter each year in the shape of an egg and, we decorate them. This is an important symbol because we use the same cut out for the cookies each year. It is old and basically broken but, we still use it because it was from 50+ years ago passed down through family.
People would want to participate in my families traditions because it is a great way to spend time with family. Once we are finished baking our Figolis we sit around the fire and eat them together and tell stories.
