There also must be displacement in the direction of the force. Force is the push or pull on an object with mass that causes it to change velocity. Work is measured in units called joules So, therefore, since you are walking at a constant velocity, and there is no change in the object's velocity, you are not completing scientific work and accomplished 0 joules of work.
