- This was the first hurricane to ever hit land in NewEngland in a little about 180 years. This had a strong mpact on the damage of ships, crops, people, and even caused a water shortage for a long time after it hit.
- The Missouri Compromise of 1820 created a border between the slave and free states between the east and the west as well as making Missouri a slave state and Maine a free state passed by Henry Clay.
