Emily Dickinson was born December 10, 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts .
She lived with her parents, Emily Norcross Dickinson and Edward Dickinson, as well as her siblings Lavinia and Austin.
She went to Amherst Academy and Mount Holyoke.
She left school in 1848. The reason why is unknown.
Most of her friends and family, including her parents, died in her life and that is one of the beliefs why all her poems were depressing.
In 1886, Emily Dickinson died , when Lavinia went to clean her belongings and found her 800 poems. Lavinia read all of them and decided to publish them.
