  • Brown vs The Board of Education
  • Why are they mad at me
  • Whites only!!
  • Why do they see us any different from them
  • In 1950 and 1951
  • We will not stop fighting for our kids, we deserve equality
  • We don't want children of color in our white schools
  • Colored children did not attend the same school as white children. They were sent to a school across town with broken windows.
  • I hereby declare that children of color are permitted to attend the same school as white children.
  • When other brown and black families encountered the same problem, they decided to take action.
  • A school for everybody
  • They wanted to take their case to court because they believed that refusing to allow their children to attend the same school as white children violated the 14th Amendment.
  • The court ruled that schools could no longer separate children of color from children of color. They believed there was no excuse why they couldn't both go to the same school. As a result, the equality statute was enacted.
  • Everyone was satisfied after the court trial, and the children eventually received the education they deserved.
